The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track and field team is set to host their first track meet of the year Friday at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie was in action Thursday night at the Denny White Relays in Mount Pleasant. The Golden Hawks were seventh as a team with 80 points. Mid-Prairie scored five event championships including Marshall Teets in the 800, Floyd Evans in the 1600, Peyton Miller in the 400 hurdles, Kyle Miller in the high jump and the 4×800 team of Floyd Evans, Marshall Teets, Cary Schaefer and Zach Pettit.

Joining Mid-Prairie at their home meet today will area school Highland. The Huskies were last on the track at the Demon Co-Ed Relays at Case Field in Washington last week. Highland was led by a fourth place finish from Zack Lasek in the shot put.

Other teams at Mid-Prairie tonight include HLV, Lisbon, Louisa-Muscatine, Montezuma, North Cedar, Springville and Western Dubuque. Events start at 4:45 at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.
