The curtain will be raised Friday for opening night of the Washington High School spring musical.

The students are performing High School Musical. Logan Hanson who plays Troy Bolton shares the plot, “The basic gist of High School Musical is a bunch of jocks are having a big championship game led by their captain Troy Bolton. And he meets this beautiful, nerdy girl, Gabriella, on vacation and she ends up moving to their school. And they end up inspiring each other to reject what they normally do and try new things, and inspire everybody in the school to do what you love instead of what’s required.”

Rio Lujano says there’s quite a bit of choreography in the show, “I would say my favorite song would probably be Get Your Head in the Game because the choreography for that one is really, really fun to do. We actually dipped into some basketball plays and maneuvers so that’ll be fun to see on stage.”

You can see High School Musical at the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
