The Iowa Mennonite boys soccer team is off to a fast start, entering Saturday’s non-conference match against Fairfield with a 6-0 overall record.

IMS is currently ranked No. 11 in the latest poll from the Iowa Soccer Coaches Association. Last time on the pitch they beat Columbus on the road 2-1 behind goals from Cole Ours and Isaiah Swantz. On the season IMS is led by Swantz, this week’s KCII Hedge Above Lawncare Soccer Athlete of the Week has the team and Southeast Iowa Superconference lead with eight goals. Jacob Boller leads IMS with three assists. In goal, Blake Bontrager has 16 saves on the year and three shut outs.

Fairfield enters play with an overall record of 7-4. Last time out they beat Mount Pleasant 2-0. On the season the Trojans are led by Chaysten Titus with 13 goals, third most in class 2A in Iowa. Titus also leads the Southeast conference with seven assists. In goal, Brendan Lunsford has 30 saves on the season to lead the Fairfield defense.
