The No. 11 Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer team posted an impressive performance Saturday over visiting class 2A Fairfield, beating the Trojans 4-2.

IMS broke the scoreless tie in the 25th minute with a Cole Ours goal on an assist from Jacob Boller. Six minutes later IMS doubled their lead with a goal from Louis Etienne with Ours on the assist. Cody Jones made it 3-0 IMS when he bent a corner kick toward goal that deflected off the Fairfield keeper and into the back of the net. That’s where the score stood at half. In the second half, Ours beat the Trojan defense for the second time, as Jones connected with Ours on a corner kick for the finish to make it 4-0 IMS.

Fairfield scored twice in the games final 20 minutes to tighten the score, but that was as close as the Trojans would get. Blake Bontrager made three saves in goal for the IMS defense. Iowa Mennonite is now 7-0 on the year and will face Wapello tonight.
