The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk and Columbus Wildcat boys soccer teams are set to faceoff on the pitch Friday in a battle of KCII area teams.

Mid-Prairie enters play at 2-1 on the season, coming off of a 6-0 win over Monticello Monday. On the year the Golden Hawks are led by Ashton VanWinkle with six goals, second most in the River Valley Conference. Zeus Fugate leads the Hawks and the RVC with four assists. Jacob Busch leads the Mid-Prairie defense with eight saves in goal.

Columbus comes into the contest with an overall record of 3-3. The Wildcats were winners Thursday over Highland 5-2 with a pair of goals from Angel Hernandez and one each from Omar Nunez, Bryan Solis and Felix Solis. Felix Solis leads the Columbus offense on the sesaon with three goals. He also has the team lead and is best in the Superconference with three assists. Keagan Atkinson has made 12 saves in goal to lead the Wildcat defense.

These two teams met a year ago with Columbus scoring a 1-0 win. Action begins tonight at 6:30p.m. in Wellman.
