The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team will look to get back on the winning track Thursday when they host the Benton Bobcats at the Wellman Soccer Complex.

Last time Mid-Prairie was on the pitch, they fell to the Columbus Wildcats 3-2 on Friday, despite a pair of goals from Zeus Fugate. On the season, Fugate and Ashton VanWinkle are tied for the team lead with six goals each, third in the River Valley Conference, Fugate also has the team and conference lead with four assists. In goal, Beau Stutzman is second in the RVC with 16 saves.

Benton enters play with an overall record of 6-2, they are winners of four in a row. The Bobcats are ranked No. 8 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa Soccer Coaches Association. On the season Benton is led by Vance Bartelt with 10 goals, most in the WAMAC West. Max Furman and Justice Lamer have the team lead with three assists. In goal the Bobcat defense is led by Ian Rupp with 85 saves.

These two teams met a season ago with Benton scoring a 3-0 shut out win. Action begins Thursday at 6:30p.m. at the Wellman Soccer Complex.
