Cows and pancakes will take over the Washington County Fairgrounds this weekend.

The annual Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association open cattle show is held by the Washington County 4-H County Council and before the show the annual pancakes and more breakfast fundraiser will be open. The breakfast is in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall with proceeds going toward 4-H enrollment fees for Washington County students. The breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and a drink runs from 7-10:30 a.m. and is a free will donation.

The sanctioned cattle show starts at 11 a.m. and any IJBBA member will receive points. The cattle show is open to any IJBBA member or 4-H member, meaning students will have a chance to compete against youth from other counties. Supreme Champion will receive $250 and Reserve Champion will receive $150, with cash awards for first through third place.
