A new record low temperature was set in Washington Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service the low temperature was 24 degrees, setting a new record. This has been the coldest start to April in Washington on record. The average temperature is normally 48.3 degrees and it has been 34.7 degrees this year. The average maximum temperature has been 46.1 degrees, while 60.6 is normal. And the average minimum temperature has been 23.4 degrees, below the normal 36 degrees. Temperatures are expected to rise over the weekend with a high in the 60s on Sunday.
