Two Finalists Named in Washington Superintendent Search

Two finalists have been selected for in-person day-long interviews for the Washington Community School District Superintendent post.

The finalists are Spence Evans and William Stone. Evans is currently the Ames Community School District High School Principal and holds a Specialist in Education degree from Drake University, Masters in Educational Leadership from Drake University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. Stone is currently the shared superintendent of Southwest Valley Community Schools for Corning and Villisca and has 13 years experience as a shared superintendent. Stone holds an A.S.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa, a Masters in School Administration from Drake University, and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Central College.

The interviews in Washington will be held this week with the aim of having a finalist selected before the end of the month.
