A water conservation order remains in effect for Ainsworth residents as the water department works on flushing and disinfecting the new well.

Ainsworth Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Chad McCleary says the drilling of the new well went smoothly and they are now waiting on water samples that have been sent to the state hygienic lab for testing. McCleary expects the well to be functioning in two weeks. According to city officials, Ainsworth residents have conserved 154,000 gallons of water in the last month, which is equal to a tower and a half worth of water. Ninety percent of the city’s accounts have contributed to this saving, for which McCleary says he appreciates residents taking the conservation order seriously.
