Winfield-Mt. Union, Keota, Sigourney and Iowa Mennonite School will all have a presence Thursday at the class 1A district meet held at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves are looking to make a return trip to the state tournament after a third place finish last year. The Wolves are coming off of a sectional title last week with their round of 323, led by Kaleb Hagge with his two-over-par 74. On the year the Wolves have a 330 scoring average per 18-holes, led by Hagge’s 74. Other scores for the Wolves include, Nolan Ross 80, Kash Rossiter 89, Jarod Kadel and Graham Hagge 93 and Noah Freeman 100.

The Keota Eagles also qualified for the district meet as a team with their runner- up finish at Iowa Valley last week, shooting a 333. Riley Conrad led the Eagles at sectionals with a 79. On the year Keota has a 348 scoring average per 18-holes, led by Conrad at 83. Other scoring averages for the Eagles include Luke Hammen and Jack Eakins 84, Branden Hyman 98, Max Johnson 103, Chase Kindred 107 and Hunter Wilson 112.

The Sigourney Savages and Iowa Mennonite School will each have one individual in action at Pleasant Valley Thursday. Sigourney will be represented by SICL conference champion and sectional runner-up Dustin Haines who shot 78 at Iowa Valley last week. Iowa Mennonite will send Trevor Leyden who shot 91 at Winfield in sectionals last week.

Joining area schools in Iowa City Thursday are East Buchanan with their 348 average. The Buccaneers are led on the year by Jacob Hesner with his 76 average.

Edgewood-Colesburg will also attend Thursday. On the year Ed-Co has a 356 scoring average led by Ethan Streicher with an 82.

Alburnett will be in Iowa City. The Pirates have a 360 scoring average led by Max Molander and his 88 average.

New London will travel to Pleasant Valley Thursday. The Tigers have a 338 scoring average paced by Clayton Phillips at 79.

The Danville Bears will also make the trip to Iowa City. The Bears have a 370 scoring average led by Wayne Briggs at 87.

Iowa Valley will be in Iowa City Thursday. The Tigers have a 334 scoring average led by Breven Platt at 81.

HLV will also be at the district meet Thursday. The Warriors have a 346 scoring average per 18 holes led by Mitch Thys and Brody Wolf at 84.

Calamus-Wheatland will be at the district meet. Cal-Wheat has a 401 average for the year, led by Hunter Lawson at 92.

Midland will compete at districts. The Bulldogs have 394 team scoring average with Carter Mohr leading the way at 96.

Lisbon rounds out the team district qualifiers. The Lions have a scoring average of 403 this year led by Conner Miller at 97.

Also joining the field are individual golfers from Holy Trinity Catholic, Prince of Peace, and Easton Valley. Action continues all day in Iowa City.
