The trial of a Riverside mother charged with child endangerment resulting in death began Tuesday.
District 8A Court Judge Myron Gookin is presiding over the trial. The plaintiff, the State of Iowa, is being represented by Washington County Attorney John Gish and Assistant Attorney General Douglas Hammerand. Defendant 29-year-old Ambrashia Chrzan is represented by attorney Jeffrey Powell. The trial began Tuesday with selection of 12 jurors and one alternate juror. The trial is expected to last four to five days, with proceedings starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m. at the Washington County Courthouse. Chrzan has pled not guilty to child endangerment resulting in the November 2016 death of her 17-month-old daughter Avery McCoy. Listen to KCII News for updates on the trial proceedings.
