Tuesday night the Columbus Wildcat boys and girls track teams hosted their annual Wildcat Relays in Columbus Junction.

The Wildcat boys were fourth of seven teams with 80 points. West Liberty won the meet with 140 points. The Wildcats had one title on the night with Tommy Pretz winning the long jump in a leap of 19’11”. Other top finishes for Columbus included Jaime Villegas second in the 400, Pretz second in the 110 hurdles, second for the 4×100 team of Felix Solis, Chance Colby, Pretz and Abel Mena, third for Solis in the 100, third for Jesus Medrano in the two mile and third for the 4×800 team of Hunter Hummiston, Bryce Carrier, Will Schwab and James Spurlock.

The Wildcat girls were fourth of seven teams with a total score of 74 points. West Burlington Notre Dame won the meet with 113 points. The Wildcats had one championship on the night with the 4×800 team of Jenessa Carpenter, Olivia Carrier, Destiny Langley and Anna Hamilton winning gold in 11:11.88. Other top finishes for the Wildcats included Angie Byas second in the 100, Carpenter second in the 800, second for the 4×200 team of Hamilton, Carrier, Michelle Martinez and Byas, second for the 4×400 team of Carpenter, Ingrid Montero, Odalyz Valdez and Carrier and second for the distance medley team of Courtney Zaehringer, Emma Milder, Vanessa Mena and Montero. The Wildcat sprint medley team of Zaehringer, Milder, Martinez and Mena was third.
