The Washington Demon boys and girls track teams made the trip to Fairfield Monday for the Brookhart Relays.

The Washington boys finished as team runners-up with 88 points. Mount Pleasant won the meet with 131 points. The Demon boys had four championships on the night with Brennan Horak winning the mile in 4:45.64. The Demons also took the title in the 4×100 with a team of Mario Tapia, Tanner Murphy, Spencer Sotelo, and Sawyer Whisler running 45.16 seconds. The 4×200 team of Cade Pouren, Murphy, Whisler and Ryan Reighard was also a champ in 1:34.97. The Washington sprint medley team of Cade Hennigan Murphy, Whisler and Ethan Hunt were also winners in 1:39.16. Other top finishes for the Demon boys included Hunt second in the 400 hurdles, the 4×800 team of Kiowa Keith, Justin Simmering, Evan and Brennan Horak second, the shuttle hurdle team of Tapia, Lincoln Kleese, Hunt and Hennigan second, Evan Horak fourth in the 1600, Simmering fourth in the 800, Cade Pouren fourth in the 100 and 200 and Kleese fifth in the 110 hurdles.

The Washington girls placed third of six teams with 101 points. Mount Pleasant won the meet with 118 points. The Demon girls had six titles on the night. Hannah Anderson brought home a pair of individual golds, taking the 100 in 12.82 seconds and the 200 in 26.19 seconds, Jenah Greiner took home the title in the long jump, clearing 16’9.50″. The other three Demon titles were in relay events with the 4×100 team of Leah Marek, Isabel Bailey, Greiner and Anderson winning in 51.04 seconds. The 4×200 team of Marek, Bailey, Ashley Telleen and Greiner grabbed the title in 1:49.34 and the Demon 4×400 team of Marek, Telleen, Bailey and Anderson was a winner in 4:27.54. Other top finishes for Washington included Telleen second in the 400 hurdles, Bailey second in the long jump, Greiner third in the 200, Molly Sparks third in the 800 and Claire Horak third in the 3000. Demeri Bell was fourth in the 100 hurdles and Cameron Malichky took fifth in the 3000.

Washington is next on the track Thursday when they host the Southeast Conference Championship Meet at Case Field.
