The Washington boys and girls soccer teams are back on the pitch Thursday for the final time in the regular season when they take on conference rival Fairfield.

The Washington boys enter play at 8-5 on the year, looking to snap a two match losing streak. Last time out the Demons fell to Iowa Mennonite School on Monday 4-1. On the season, Washington is led by Anthony Torres with nine goals scored. Julio Salgado paces the Demons with six assists. In goal, Thomas Zimmer leads the Demon defense with 45 saves.

Fairfield comes into the match with an overall record of 11-5. Last time out the Trojans beat Keokuk by a 10-0 mercy rule score. Shawn Spurrier leads the Trojans with 20 goals. Chaysten Titus paces the Trojans with 11 assists and Brendon Lunsford has the team lead with 40 saves. These two teams met earlier this year with Fairfield scoring a 3-2 win.

The Washington girls host the Trojans tonight. The Demons are coming off of their first win in nearly three seasons Monday, a 10-0 victory over Centerville, led by Halle Leyden’s four goals. On the year Washington is 1-11. For the year, the Demons are led by Leyden and her four goals. Olivia Pacha leads the Demon defense with 178 saves. Fairfield is 5-7 on the year. They fell to Keokuk this week 5-3. For the year the Trojans are led by Kristin Burnstedt with 15 goals, Alie Kensett and Ella Pollet with four assists and Kelsey Hollander with 62 saves. These two teams met earlier this year with Fairfield scoring a 2-1 win. The Demon girls will be on the pitch at Washington High School at 4:30 Thursday while the Demon boys travel to Fairfield for a 5:30 start this evening.
