The Washington Demon boys soccer team puts their season on the line tonight in Mount Pleasant when they face the Panthers in the semifinal round of the class 2A substate tournament.

The Demons are 9-6 on the year, having advanced through Monday’s first round with a 1-0 win over the Keokuk Chiefs on a Zac Stout goal. For the season Anthony Torres leads the Demon offense with nine goals scored. Julio Salgado and Caleb Suchan have the team lead with six assists. Ben Baughman has recorded 43 saves in goal this year and Washington’s first round playoff shut out.

Mount Pleasant is 11-6 entering tonight’s action. They had a bye in the first round of the playoffs. On the year the Panthers are led by Paris Choulamany with 12 goals. Jayden Vongsavath has the team lead with nine assists. In goal Nathan Rauenbuehler has made 58 saves. These two teams have met twice this season with the Panthers sweeping the series 3-1 and 4-1. Action begins at 5p.m. in Mount Pleasant.
