The Washington Demon softball team swept away Fort Madison Friday at the Washington softball complex.

The Demons took the pair of Southeast Conference games by scores of 5-2 and 10-0. In game one, Washington used a five run third inning to erase an early 1-0 deficit while Molly Sparks controlled the game in the circle, earning with win going the distance, allowing eight hits, a pair of runs and striking out three. The Washington offensive attack was led by Morgan Brinning with three hits.

Washington dominated game two, start to finish, scoring the mercy rule victory in just five innings. Alexa Mitchell recorded the win in the circle, scattering nine hits and striking out a pair without allowing a run. At the plate Morgan Brinning, Kellie Dallmeyer, Megan Mitchell and Molly Sparks each had a pair of hits. With the sweep the Demons are now 3-3 on the season.
