If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

The Washington boys soccer team has found the right formula, posting their second straight 1-0 victory of the season, this time over the Columbus Wildcats Monday on the road. The game was dominated by the wind and the two defenses through the first 30 minutes. Washington broke through in the 32nd minute when Julio Salgado connected with Caleb Suchan who put the ball in the back of the net on a header to give Washington a 1-0 lead going to the intermission. In the second half the Wildcats applied pressure trying to find the equalizer but the Demon defense turned them away time and again, led by goalkeeper Thomas Zimmer and his 10 saves. With the win, the Demons move back above the .500 mark on the season at 4-3. The loss drops the Wildcats to 6-5.
