The Washington Demon baseball team posted their first wins of the season Friday and swept conference rival Fort Madison at Dick Sojka Memorial Field.

In action heard on AM and FM KCII, Washington rolled in game one with a 7-1 victory. Washington got on top early, with three runs in the first. The Bloodhounds got within 3-1 with single tally in the fourth, but in the home half the Demons scored three more times and added another insurance run in the sixth to finish the win. Luke Turner had a pair of hits for Washington and drove in three in the victory. Chase McDole was terrific on the hill, going four and a third innings collecting the win while striking out 10.

Another fast start led Washington to a game two win 13-8. The Demons scored six times in the first inning, and added three more in the second to take a 9-1 lead. Fort Madison rallied late to pull within 11-8 but the Demons were able to close the door on the Bloodhounds to grab the win. Kiowa Keith led the Demon attack with three RBI. With the sweep Washington is now 2-2 on the year as they host Mediapolis for a double dip Wednesday.
