Drought conditions in Iowa have lessened.

According to the most recent report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, 10.85% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 30.7% is abnormally dry. Those figures are down from a week ago when 12.6% was in moderate drought and nearly 40% was abnormally dry. The dry conditions stretch across the southern third of Iowa. All of Washington, Louisa, and Henry Counties are abnormally dry. Most of Jefferson County is in moderate drought, and the southwestern corner of Keokuk County is in moderate drought.
