The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team dropped their 2018 opener at Louisa-Muscatine Tuesday 4-2.

IMS got on the board first when Reggie Borntrager delivered an RBI single in inning one driving in Cole Ours to make it 1-0. L-M answered in their half of the first on a Mason McCulley RBI single that drove in Chase Kruse. The Falcons would take the lead with a pair of runs in the third when McCulley delivered a second time, with a two RBI triple to make it 3-1. He went to work on the mound, holding IMS off the board until the seventh. Trailing 4-1, IMS pushed one across when Reggie Borntrager walked and scored on an error. IMS would continue to apply pressure, loading the bases, but were unable to put anything else on the board. Borntrager led IMS with a hit, run and an RBI at the plate. On the mound, Blake Bontrager took the loss, going five innings, giving up four hits, three runs, walking four and striking out six. With the loss IMS is 0-1 on the year and travels to Pekin Friday.
