The Highland boys and girls hosted their home track meet Monday at Highland High School but it was the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys who took home the hardware with the team title.

Mid-Prairie scored 142 points, edging second place Tipton with 140 points. The Golden Hawks had seven championship events on the night with Kyle Miller winning the high jump clearing six feet. Terrhyn Jacoby took the 100 in 11.21 seconds. Peyton Miller took gold in the 800 with a time of 2:08.33. Cary Schaefer won the 200 in 23.13 seconds. Zach Pettit was the winner in the 1600 with a new meet record time of 4:46.58. In relay events, Mid-Prairie won the 4×200 in 1:37.38 with the team of Peyton Miller, Grant Boyse, Quinn Schmidt and Adain Rath. The 4×100 team was also a winner in 46.13 seconds with the team of Elmir Ganibegovic, Schaefer, Jacoby and Peyton Miller. Other top finishes for the Hawks included Marshall Teets second in the 1600, second place for the sprint medley team of Josh Slaubaugh, Josh Wallington, Ganibegovic and Floyd Evans, and second for the 4×400 team of Schmidt, Teets, Rath and Pettit. David Fleming third in the 3200, Schaefer third in the 100, Jacoby third in the 200, Boyse third in the 800 and the 4×800 team of Miles Burrows, Evans, Brad Tornow and Jacob Nonnenmann third.

The WACO boys were fifth of eight teams with a score of 59 points. The Warriors had two championship events on the night with Colton Horak winning the 400 hurdles in 59.92 seconds and the sprint medley team of Dalton Diers, Drew Kissell, Calvin Battle Jr. and Jalen Collins winning gold in a new meet record time of 1:41.34. Other top finishes for the Warriors included Elijah McGohan second in the 400, second for the shuttle hurdle team of Jason Sammons, Kissell, McGohan and Horak and third for the 4×400 team of John Skriver, Collins, McGohan and Horak.

The Lone Tree boys were sixth with 50 points. Top finishes for the Lions were Casey Shalla second in the discus and shot put, the 4×800 team of Harmon Miller, Keegan Edwards, Brady Dauber and Brock Smith second and Smith second in the 400m hurdles.

The Highland Huskies were seventh with 30 points. The Huskies had one title with Zack Lasek winning the discus with a throw of 131’5″. Other top finishes for Highland included Lasek third in the shot put, third place for the distance medley team of Jarrett Brown, Mason McFarland, Mason Manley and Bryan Redlinger and third place for the 4×200 team of Brown, Bryce Waters, McFarland and Kadin Jepson.

Top finish on the girls side came from Mid-Prairie at third of eight teams with 101 points. Tipton won the team title with 113 points. The Hawks scored three titles on the night with Anna Hostetler winning the 3000 in 12:16.57. Kate Cavanagh took gold in the 800 with a time of 2:41.26 and the 4×800 team of Cavanagh, Moriah Brase, Ana Fleming and Kessa Jones were winners in a meet record time of 11:34.00. Other top finishes for Mid-Prairie included Tori Boyse second in the discus and third in the shot put, Marie Hostetler second in the 3000, Kitty Conway second in the 400 hurdles, second for the 4×200 team of Maddie Edgington, Cassidy Rourke, Amber Swart and Kessa Jones, Swart third in the long jump and the 4×400 team of Cavanagh, Sarah Meader, Brase and Fleming third.

The Highland girls were fifth at their home meet with a team score of 70 points. The Huskies had one title on the night with Emily Yahnke setting a new meet record of 17’2″ in the long jump. Other top finishes for Highland included Bailey Harmston second in the high jump, Yahnke second in the 100, second for the 4×800 team of Zoe Mahler, Fiona Mahler, Alli Brand and Madison Thomann, third for the sprint medley team of Murphy Beinhart, Thomann, Sarah Schneider and Aly Stokes, third for the distance medley team of Beinhart, McKenna Winegarden, Thomann and Taylor Sublette, third for the 4×200 team of Schneider, Stokes, Thomann and Yahnke, third for the 4×100 team of Schneider, Stokes, Thomann and Yahnkee and third for Sublette in the 1500.

Lone Tree was seventh of eight teams with 38 points. The Lady Lions had one title on the night with the 4×100 team of Chloe Jacque, Zoie Simonsen, Holley Johnson and Emily Feldman setting a new meet record of 1:14.21. Emily Feldman was third in the 100m hurdles and Natalie Patterson took third in the 3000.
