The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team takes the first step in the postseason Monday when they travel to Heritage Oaks in Wapello for regional play.

Last time on the course the Golden Hawks captured their first conference title since 2013 at the River Valley Championship meet. The Hawks shot a team score of 410, led by Paige Slabaugh and her round of 94. On the season Mid-Prairie has a 406 scoring average per 18-holes led by Slabaugh and her 93 average. Other scoring averages for the Golden Hawks include Abbi Patterson 101, Georgia Nisly 102, Kendra Schaefer 110, Abby Statler 115 and Emma Mattes 121.

Top average in the regional tournament belongs to the Williamsburg Raiders at 391. The Raiders are led by Karly Berkland and her 95 average per 18 holes. Other teams at Heritage Oaks include Iowa City Regina, Louisa-Muscatine, Van Buren, Central Lee, Mediapolis and Wapello.
