Sigourney was the site of one of five class 1A regional final girls golf tournaments Monday in Iowa.

Competing from the KCII listening area were the Winfield-Mt. Union girls team, Sydney Striegel from Sigourney and Aubrey Duncan from Columbus. The Wolves finished third as a team, three shots away from qualifying for the state meet with their score of 379. New London won the meet with a 349. The Wolves will be represented at state by Lexee Hartsock who led WMU in scoring on the day with an 89, good enough to qualify her as an individual. Other scores for the Wolves included Lauren Hagge and Sabrina Moody with 95s, Lauren Jamison at 100, Abbie Cooley 113 and Makenna Mullin 131.

Aubrey Duncan of Columbus punched her ticket to state with a round of 87 to finish fourth overall. Sydney Striegel saw her season come to an end with a round of 98, good for 18th place. The class 1A state tournament will be held at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown Tuesday and Wednesday, May 29th and 30th.
