The No. 4 ranked Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer team looks to close out the regular season with a statement against Mount Vernon Thursday.

IMS rebounded after their lone loss of the season with a Monday victory over Washington 4-1. Cole Ours scored twice to lead the IMS offense. On the year Iowa Mennonite is led by Ours and his conference leading 13 goals. A trio of IMS players have the team lead with seven assists including Ours, Jacob Boller and Isaiah Swantz. In goal, Blake Bontrager has made 51 saves. Mount Vernon comes in with a 3-12 overall record. In their last match the Mustangs were beaten by South Tama 5-1. On the year, Mount Vernon is led by Garrett Herring with four goals. Defensively the Mustangs are led by Zach Kolker with 180 saves. These two teams met a year ago in Mount Vernon with IMS taking a 2-1 win. IMS will also honor this year’s senior class during tonight’s contest. Action begins at 5p.m. at Iowa Mennonite School.
