The No. 2 Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer team opened the playoffs with a statement, shutting out Mediapolis 6-0 Monday in Kalona.

IMS was on the board just 19 seconds into the match when Louis Etienne cashed in a Jacob Boller assist. In the seventh minute that same combo doubled the IMS lead with a second goal, that’s where things stood at half. In the second half, Cole Ours got on the board in the 42nd minute with a goal and scored again in the 46th minute. With the score at 4-0, Levi Geyer found the back of the net for IMS and Mitchell Schmeider wrapped up the IMS scoring. With the victory IMS is now 16-1 on the year and will face No. 7 Burlington Notre Dame Wednesday in the second round in Kalona.
