The Iowa Mennonite School softball team opens the season Tuesday night at home hosting the Danville Bears.

IMS was 6-12 a season ago and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Iowa Mennonite hits .259 as a team, led by Avery Blauvelt and her .471 average. In the circle, IMS had a 4.53 team ERA led by Hannah Harris with a 4.21 ERA in 111 innings and a 6-12 overall record.

Danville comes in with an 0-1 record on the year. The Bears dropped their season opener at Central Lee Monday 3-2. A season ago they were 10-14, hitting .356 as a team, led by Kelsey Jackson and her .457 average. In the circle the Bears had a collective ERA of 4.58 and return Haiden Molter who was 4-5 a year ago with a 5.78 ERA in 53 innings of work.

These two teams played twice a season ago, splitting the two games with Danville winning 10-6 and IMS 6-5. You can hear all of the action tonight from Iowa Mennonite School on AM 1380 and FM 102.5 KCII, beginning with the Washington HyVee pregame show at 6:30 and first pitch at 7p.m.
