The fate of Superintendent Mark Schneider will be determined at the Mid-Prairie School Board meeting Monday.

Schneider has requested the board take a vote of confidence or no confidence in his superintendent responsibilities. This vote is in response to recent public scrutiny over Schneider’s decision to allow Mid-Prairie parent Trent Yoder volunteer for the district. Yoder was a registered sex offender for 10 years after he was convicted on one count of sexual exploitation of children in 1998, and was taken off of the registry in 2008. Schneider required that Yoder be accompanied by another adult during his volunteering. If the board votes no confidence in Schneider, he will submit a letter of resignation effective June 30. The board meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school gymnasium.
