Over $100,000 was presented to the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, also known as HACAP, by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.

At the recent grant presentation, WCRF President David Mitchell explained, “Washington County HACAP Old Main housing program is a transitional housing program for homeless families in Washington County. The facility they have is an old county home that was converted into apartments over 30 years ago. The building is needing repairs including concrete masonry work, repairing the roof above the shops, tuck-pointing and painting the main facility, and they need an asphalt driveway and parking lot. This will result in a cleaner and safer living environment.” The total grant amount was $124,900 for improvements on Old Main and its housing program.
