The Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet wrapped up Saturday and the KCII-area is home to champions.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls won their first ever team state championship with 60 points. Their individual champions included Anna Hostetler in the 800 and 1500, and Marie Hostetler finished third in the 800 and second in the 1500. The girls also won the distance medley. The Mid-Prairie boys team finished as state runners-up. The Washington Demon girls’ 4×100 team finished in sixth place with Leah Marek, Isabel Bailey, Jenah Greiner, and Hannah Anderson. Highland’s Emily Yahnke took third in the 100 meter dash and won the long jump. For details and full results listen to KCII Sports.
