Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Winfield is playing host to a Class 1A sectional golf meet Friday. Area teams competing include Highland, Iowa Mennonite, Lone Tree and the home-standing Wolves.

The Highland boys took on visiting Danville and New London Tuesday at Blue Top Ridge, finishing third in the triangular with a team score of 227. The Huskies were led by Richard Dunbar with a 54. On the season Highland has a 242 average per nine holes, led by Grady Yeggy with a 59 average.

Iowa Mennonite was last on the course Saturday at the Central Lee Invitational in Donnellson, where they shot 403. IMS was led by Trevor Leyden with his 18-hole round of 85. IMS has a 449 average per 18-holes on the year, led by Leyden and his 97 average.

Lone Tree was last in action at Mediapolis Monday. They shot 206 as a team led by Payton Lorack and Austin Marshek with 50s. The Lions have a 389 average per 18-holes led by Lorack and his 92 average.

Winfield-Mt. Union was last on the course at the Superconference meet last week in Fort Madison. The Wolves were conference runners-up shooting 337. Led by individual conference champion Kaleb Hagge with his three-over-par round of 75.  The Wolves have a 332 team average per 18-holes led by Hagge with a 74.

Other teams joining the area schools at Winfield include Danville, Holy Trinity, and New London. Action begins at 10a.m. and continues all day in Winfield.
