Two people were arrested on multiple charges including forgery or theft of lottery tickets from Kalona.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a burglary was reported at the Highway 1 BP in Kalona on January 17th. Thursday evening and Friday morning two people tied to the case were arrested. Thursday at 7:23 p.m. 43-year-old Dorothy Marie Brown of Kalona was arrested in Washington on a warrant for lottery forgery or theft of lottery ticket, and theft in the fifth degree. A few hours later at 1:18 a.m Friday, 45-year-old James Arthur Brown of Mediapolis was arrested in Burlington for lottery forgery or theft of lottery ticket, and theft in the fifth degree. Bond for each was set at $5,300. A preliminary hearing for each is set for May 17th.
