The Winfield-Mt. Union boys golf team beat the field at Friday’s sectional tournament at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Winfield.

The Wolves fired a team best round of 323, led by individual medalist Kaleb Hagge with his two-over-par round of 74. Other scores for the Wolves included Nolan Ross 78, Kash Rossiter 85, Jarod Kadel 86, Graham Hagge 88 and Noah Freeman 104.

Iowa Mennonite finished in fifth place as a team with an overall score of 402 led by Trevor Leyden’s round of 91. Other scores for IMS included London Schrock 95, Bronze Slabach 101, Cole Roth 115 and Max Martens 133.

Highland was sixth with a 427 team score. The Huskies were led by Colton Mellinger with a 103. Other scores for Highland included Jack Baker 106, Richard Dunbar and Grady Yeggy with 109s, Zane Eagle at 115 and Brogran Carolan at 117.

Lone Tree was seventh with a 430 team score. The Lions were led by Payton Lorack with a 93. Other scores for Lone Tree included Austin Marshek and Curtis Patterson with 109s, Corey Krueger 119 and Erik Edens 126.

With the win the Wolves advance to the district meet at Pleasant Valley in Iowa City Thursday.
