The City of Ainsworth is making improvements to what once was a school building and is now becoming a facility for all community members to enjoy.

The City of Ainsworth purchased the Ainsworth Elementary Building from the Highland School District last fall and have named it the Ainsworth City Center. Since the purchase they have been renting the building out to organizations, and in order to make renting the space more affordable for residents they are performing some energy efficiency upgrades. The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded the city $13,899 to replace leaking windows and doors, and install LED lighting. This will decrease the building’s utility bills, making it more affordable for residents to use the space for exercising and other social functions.
