The Washington Demon baseball and softball teams hit the road today for a conference double-header, as they head southeast to take on Fort Madison.

The baseball team completed the sweep of the Bloodhounds back on May 25, winning 7-1 and 13-8.  Luke Turner was a standout at the plate, going 3-7, two of which were triples, with five RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases.  Wilx Witthoft also recorded the team’s first home run of the season in game one.

Softball also swept the Bloodhounds in their first meeting, with a 5-2 win in game one and a 10-0 score in five innings to take game two.  Over the two games, Morgan Brinning, Kellie Dallmeyer, and Kaitlin Mitchell at the top of the lineup went for a combined 9-18 at the plate, with five RBI and eight runs scored.  Brinning also had three stolen bases in game two.

Game one of tonight’s softball double-header will be on FM 106.1 KCII at 5:00 with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show, with first pitch set for 5:30.
