The Washington Demon and Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball teams shared the experience of a lifetime Saturday morning, facing off in their annual rivalry game on the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, home of the Cardinals.

The Demons scored a 9-4 win. After full major league starting lineup announcements complete with video board introductions the action got underway. Mid-Prairie struck first as Eli Steckley walked and came home on a wild pitch. Washington answered in the first with a Luke Turner RBI single to drive in Cade Hennigan and tie the game at one. The Demons took their first lead of the day in the second when Chase McDole drove in Jacob Hall with a single. Trailing 2-1 the Hawks responded in the fourth with a Rex Peck single to bring home Stephen Miller. In the home half, the Demons put together a four run frame, that saw them hit all the way around the order. Brent Stout, Cade Hennigan, Jacob Hall and Kiowa Keith all scored with Hennigan and Luke Turner belting RBI hits. Mid-Prairie made one final push in the sixth with Keaton Duwa and Connor Miller scoring runs and Aidan Rath drawing an RBI walk. With the score at 6-4 Washington, the Demons put things out of reach with a three run sixth with Stout, Hennigan and Turner all scoring and Turner and Brady Knutson supplying the RBI contact.

Kole Hinrichsen got the win, throwing one inning, allowing two hits and one run. Turner was four for four at the plate with three RBI and a run scored. Cade Hennigan had two hits, drove in two and scored three times. Brad Tornow took the loss for Mid-Prairie going two innings, giving up three hits, two runs, walking one and striking out two. Stephen Miller had two hits to lead the Mid-Prairie offense. Washington is now 11-5 on the year, Mid-Prairie falls to 7-9.
