The Washington Demon softball team completed the sweep of Fairfield in their double-header here at home last night.

The Demons would take game one in nine innings. Former Demon Allison Rebling was in the circle for Fairfield, and she went all eight and a third innings pitched. The Demons were held to just three hits in the whole game, but they managed to get the job done in the bottom of the ninth inning, taking the game by a final of 2-1. This is the second extra-inning game these two teams have played this season.

The Demons would win game two as well, in regulation this time, by a final of 3-2. The Demons would only notch three hits in this one as well, but strong pitching and strong defense held the Trojans to just two runs despite their eight hits.

This moves Washington and Fairfield into a tie atop the Southeast Conference. Washington moves now to 9-17 overall. They take to the diamond again on Wednesday night, when they take on Mid Prairie at home. Coverage of that one will be on AM 1380 and FM 102.5 with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show starting at 6:30 and a 7:00 first pitch.
