Drought conditions in Iowa lessened slightly from last week to this week.

Last week 25.5% of the state was abnormally dry and it dropped to 23.9% this week. Currently 2.3% of Iowa is in severe drought and 9.3% is in moderate drought. The severe drought is in far south-southeast Iowa including Lee, Van Buren, Davis, Wapello, Monroe and Appanoose Counties. Currently Washington County is not experiencing any drought conditions. Most of Louisa is abnormally dry, while Henry and Jefferson are about half abnormally dry and half in moderate drought.
