The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams are back on the diamond Monday when they host the West Branch Bears in River Valley Conference doubleheaders.

The Golden Hawk girls come into the matchup with a 3-15 record overall. In their last recorded game they fell to Bellevue Monday 5-2. On the season the Golden Hawks are hitting .268, led by Rylee Vercande with a .373 average. In the circle, Mid-Prairie has a 2.80 team ERA. Cassidy Rourke leads the way with a 2.53 ERA and 3-11 record in 75 innings of work. West Branch comes into play with an overall mark of 9-15. They split a pair of games on Saturday, beating Woodward-Granger 2-1 and falling to Fairfield 5-0. On the year, the Bears are hitting .259 as a team, led by Mackenzie Heise with a .484 average. West Branch has a team ERA of 4.51. Kaiya Luneckas leads the Bears pitching staff with a 4-7 record in 61 innings with a 4.45 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with the Bears sweeping a doubleheader 8-5 and 13-3.

Mid-Prairie baseball comes into play with an overall record of 7-10 following an 8-3 loss at Benton on Friday. Mid-Prairie is hitting .219 on the year, led by Brad Tornow with a .289 average. The Hawks have a team ERA of 3.64, led by Tornow with a 3-3 record and 1.91 ERA in 33 innings pitched. West Branch is 6-10 on the season. Last time out the Bears lost to Grinnell Saturday 6-2. On the season the Bears are hitting .198 as a team, led by Matt Paulsen with a .396 average. West Branch has a team ERA of 3.64, led by Paulsen with a 1-2 record in 22 innings and a 0.64 ERA. These two teams met for a doubleheader last season with Mid-Prairie getting the sweep by matching 3-2 scores in each game.
