The Highland Husky baseball and softball teams took to the road to face Louisa-Muscatine last night, with softball losing and baseball picking up a win.

The Husky softball team was held to no runs on just four hits across their seven innings by the fifth-ranked team in class 2A, losing by a narrow score of 2-0. Two L-M pitchers threw in the circle, holding the Huskies to two hits each, and combining for 11 strikeouts while not walking a single batter.

The Highland baseball team took on the Falcons as well, winning 5-2. The scoring was balanced throughout, with Luke Miller, Brody Burton, Cory Stewart, Cael Yeggy, and Robert Yoder each having one RBI apiece scattered throughout the lineup. Chase Schultz had another strong start on the mound, going four innings pitched and allowing a total of zero runs to cross the plate.

The loss moves softball to 9-6 on the season, and the baseball team’s win improves them to 9-7. The next games for Highland are on Monday at home against Mediapolis.
