The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team swept a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader from their rival Lone Tree Friday on the road, winning game one 5-1 and game two 4-1.

In a pair of games heard on KCII, Lone Tree got on the board first in the first contest, as Avery Knock brought Brady Dauber home with a sac fly to make it 1-0 Lions in the opening inning. IMS answered immediately with a four run first inning, keyed by a two out double with the bases loaded that brought home three off the bat of Blake Bontrager. With the score at 4-1, Bontrager went to work on the hill for IMS, he threw a complete game in the win, giving up just two hits while striking out eight. Reggie Borntrager added an insurance run in the sixth with a long solo homer to left.

Game two followed the same script with Lone Tree grabbing a 1-0 lead in the first, this time on a Harmon Miller two out double that scored Avery Knock. IMS broke through with another four spot, this time in the third inning against Lion starter Keegan Edwards on a pair of hits, three wild pitches and a couple of walks, with Cole Ours and Jacob Boller delivering RBI in the rally. Drew Blauvelt was terrific on the mound in the night cap for IMS going the distance, giving up just two hits, three walks and striking out eight. With the wins, IMS Is now 9-6 on the year, Lone Tree falls to 7-11.
