Following the recent rainfall area rivers are rising.

Washington received another half an inch of rain Thursday, for a total of four inches over three days. The Iowa River at Lone Tree rose just over two feet from Thursday morning to Friday morning. As of 6 a.m. Friday the river was at 10.86 feet and flood stage there is 15 feet. At Columbus Junction the Iowa River was within three feet of flood stage, as of 6 a.m. Friday the river was at 16.87 feet and flood stage there is 19 feet.
