The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team hosted Cedar Rapids Prairie Wednesday night in Kalona.

It was the Prairie Hawks that took a 10-0 win in six innings. In a game heard on KCII, Cedar Rapids Prairie scored once in the second, four times in the fourth, twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth against Golden Hawk starter Cassidy Rourke. Offensively, Mid-Prairie had six hits of their own, with at least one in every inning but the first but were unable to string them together to get on the board. Rylee Vercande led the Golden Hawks going two for three at the plate. With the loss, the Golden Hawks are now 4-22 on the year, they travel to Mount Mercy Thursday to battle Iowa City Liberty in a doubleheader.
