Washington County had 1,573 people cast ballots in the primary election Tuesday, and 54% were Democrats. According to unofficial results from the Washington County Auditor’s Office, there were 854 Democrat ballots cast, 705 Republican ballots, and 14 Libertarian ballots. In total, 254 people voted early either in person or by mail with absentee ballots.

In 2016’s June primary, Washington County had 3,260 people vote, or nearly 22% of registered voters, and 2,834 for Republican ballots. In 2014’s primary there were 2,099 ballots cast and 1,710 were Republicans.
