Crews are testing the new well that was drilled for the City of Ainsworth.

Ainsworth Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Chad McCleary says the city is currently using the new well and everything is operating okay so far. A water conservation order is still in effect for Ainsworth residents, as McCleary says the raw water analysis that is underway involves temporarily shutting down the well and relying on the water tower. McCleary says once the water test samplings come back with good results and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources gives their approval the conservation order will be lifted. The new well was drilled last month after an unexpected collapse of the former well occurred earlier this spring.
