The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team suffered their first set back of the year, dropping a River Valley Conference contest 10-0 in five innings at Monticello Thursday.

The Panthers scored a pair in the first and added four in each of the third and fifth innings to finish the game early. The Golden Hawk offense had a hard time getting anything going against Monticello’s Ryan Manternach, he went five innings on the hill recording the win while posting six strike outs and surrendering just two Mid-Prairie hits on the night. With the loss Mid-Prairie is now 5-1 on the year, and they travel to Center Point-Urbana Friday.
