The downtown Washington square will soon be aglow in honor and memory of loved ones with luminarias for Washington County’s Relay for Life.

The 18th annual event to raise money to fight cancer is being held Saturday. The goal for Washington County Relay for Life is to raise $100,000 and so far just over $46,000 has been collected for cancer research and patient care programs with the American Cancer Society. The Prairie Power Team has raised nearly $22,000. Relay for Life will be in Central Park from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Luminarias can be purchased this week including at Thursday’s Farmer’s Market and the day of Relay.
