The Mid-Prairie School Board is looking to fill a vacancy.

Superintendent Mark Schneider announced board vice president George Schaefer resigned effective June 25th. Schaefer’s term was set to expire in November 2019. The school board has published a public notice to appoint a new board member to serve the rest of Schaefer’s term. The board will accept names from the public for consideration until their next meeting on July 9th at 7 p.m. Anyone interested may contact board secretary Jeff Swartzentruber at the central administrative office. Mid-Prairie School district residents also have the right to request a special election if a petition of at least 100 signatures or 30% of the number of voters at the last school election, whichever is greater, is presented to Swartzentruber by July 12.
