More severe drought conditions have crept into southern Iowa in the last week.
Six counties are now experiencing severe drought; these counties include Lee, Van Buren, Wapello, Davis, Appanoose, and Monroe. Currently 2.32% of Iowa is in severe drought, 9.36% is in moderate drought and 25.49% is abnormally dry. Washington County is free of any drought conditions. Jefferson and Henry Counties are both experiencing moderate drought in their southwest corners with abnormally dry conditions in the northeast.
