Severe storms and rain swept across the KCII listening area Wednesday.

Washington received 2.5 inches of precipitation throughout the day. The KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought you live coverage of severe weather Wednesday afternoon. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 3:13 p.m. for Washington, Louisa, Johnson, Iowa, and Keokuk Counties and expired at 4:15 p.m. Trained weather spotters reported a snapped power pole and crop damage a half mile west of West Chester. Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh said Kalona received one inch of rain with the storm. Alliant Energy had power outages for 27 customers in Kalona and 255 customers in Riverside.
